At IU, what is TLTC (Teaching & Learning Technologies Centers)?

TLTC (Teaching & Learning Technologies Centers) provides consulting and development for integrating technologies into university teaching and learning. The Centers serve as both a working environment and a contact area for faculty, instructors, and campus instructional technology providers in the design, development, implementation, and assessment of teaching and learning materials for both classroom and distributed education.

TLTC provides workshops and presentations, one-on-one consulting, and as much direct practical experience applying teaching and learning technologies as faculty members and instructors need or request. TLTC also serves as a general resource for IU departments and staff.

The TLTC team consists of instructional and technical support staff, consultants, designers, and developers. The TLTC staff has training and experience in areas such as instructional development, interface design, multimedia and web authoring, Windows and Macintosh computers, instructional servers, class conferencing, and course management systems.

Consultants also work to further the ongoing development of the IU community source course management system, Oncourse CL, through participation in the Functional Requirements Committee, which works closely with the faculty Oncourse Priorities Committee to establish specific functional requirements for proposed improvements, new features, and tools in Oncourse CL.
