At IU, what is Mercury?

Mercury is the web server at Indiana University that hosts personal web pages at mypage.iu.edu. On June 23, 2008, all Mypage accounts were migrated to Mercury from Steel. For more, see About the Mypage migration.

Mercury is configured as follows:

Operating system:	Red Hat Linux Enterprise Version 4, 32 bit
Web server software:	Apache 1.3
Default shell:	`/bin/bash`
