At IU, how can I access departmental servers from the STCs?
Note: UITS does not maintain departmental servers. For specific information about their content and services, contact the appropriate department.
To connect to an Indiana University departmental server from the IU Student Technology Centers (STCs):
Mac OS X
See In Mac OS X, how do I connect to network servers or another computer on the network?
Windows
- On the desktop, double-click
My Network Places, and then double-clickEntire Network.
- From the list in the left of the
Entire Networkwindow, clickSearch for computers, and type the name of the departmental server you are trying to locate.Alternatively, you may click
entire contents. Double-clickMicrosoft Windows Network. - Select the desired server or directory (domain) to find the
server.
- Double-click the server icon. You may be asked to provide a
username and password to access the server. (Contact the owner of the
departmental server to determine what to enter.)
- Once logged into the server, right-click the desired directory,
and then select
Map Network Drive.
