How can I check my TeraGrid account balance?

You can monitor usage of your TeraGrid allocation online (via the TeraGrid User Portal) or from the command line of any TeraGrid resource (using the tgusage utility).

Via the User Portal

To view account usage online:

  1. Log into the TeraGrid User Portal.

  2. Click the My TeraGrid tab and (if necessary) Accounts and Usage. Usage data for your allocation(s) is under "Allocation Usage".

Using tgusage

To monitor the usage of your allocation from the command line of any TeraGrid resource, use the tgusage utility.

Entering tgusage list will display cumulative information about the service units (SUs) used in all your allocations on all applicable machines, for example:

% tgusage list No account specified, using only account Account: TG-ABC012345N Resource: teragrid Total Allocation: 99999 SU Remaining Allocation: 81632.403333333148428 SU Sub-Allocations: FIRST LAST MIDDLE (NAME) Total Remaining Used Limit ------------------------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- John Doe 99999 SU 81632 SU 57 SU 100%

If you have more than one allocation, tgusage lists your accounts and asks you to choose the one to be displayed.

Usage data is normally updated once every day, so SUs accrued by jobs on one day will be reflected in the tgusage data the next day.

Note: Usage data by month is not readily available. If you need such detail, send a request to help@teragrid.org for routing to the appropriate system administrator.
