In IUCAT, what is Request Delivery and how do I use it?

Using the Request Delivery service available through IUCAT, students, faculty, and staff may place requests for delivery of materials to the library of their choice. Requests for delivery usually take four to seven working days to complete. You cannot request materials that are already checked out, but you may recall them for your use.

You cannot use the Request Delivery service for materials located at the following libraries: Law Library, Kinsey Institute Library, Lilly Library, Center for Disability Information and Referral (CeDIR) Library, Archives of Traditional Music, Cyclotron Library, Indiana University Archives, and the Bloomington RPS Libraries. In addition, some materials (e.g., reference books, other non-circulating collections, short-term loan collections) from other libraries may be excluded.

To use Request Delivery, log into IUCAT using your IU Network ID:

http://iucat.iu.edu/

Once logged into IUCAT, find the book you wish to request. If the book is in a list, click the title, and the bibliographic record of the item will be displayed. The Request Delivery link appears only on the bibliographic record. Click Request Delivery in the menu at the right. From the drop-down list, select the library where you would like to pick up your item, select an expiration date (optional), and then click Request Delivery. You will be notified via email when the item is ready for pickup. If your request is denied, click More Options for further information.

If you enter IUCAT using Guest Access and find an item for which you would like to request delivery, click Login at the top right of the screen. You will need to redo your search.
