In UMS, how do I check my email?
Note: To be able to use Unified Messaging Service (UMS) to check your email, you must be using Exchange as your email service.
In UMS, you have two options for checking your email messages on the Exchange server:
- You can use your email client, as you normally would.
- You can also use a telephone to access your email. The UMS
telephone interface will read your email messages aloud to you over
the phone, using a text-to-speech converter. To access your email
through the UMS telephone user interface, follow the instructions
below:
- Dial the telephone number for UMS on your campus. For more
information, see What are the telephone numbers for UMS?

Enter your full 10-digit mailbox number (i.e., 812-85X-XXXX or 317-27X-XXXX), not just the last 5 digits.
- Enter your UMS passcode.
- At the main voice menu, press 3 to access your Exchange email
messages.
- Press 1 to listen to new email messages, or press 2 to listen to saved messages.
You can save, delete, forward, or replay any of your email messages; follow the instructions on the phone menu to carry out these options.
- Dial the telephone number for UMS on your campus. For more
