At IU, what is the Account Management Service?
The Account Management Service (AMS) at IU provides a single web site for everyone associated with IU to manage university accounts and passphrases. You can use the AMS to see which accounts you currently have, create new accounts, set your mail forwarding, and change or reset your passphrase. For help with the AMS, see:
- Managing your IU student accounts
- Managing your IU faculty or staff accounts
- Managing your IU group or departmental accounts
- Managing your IU affiliate accounts
- Managing your IU Guest account
Access the AMS at:
https://itaccounts.iu.edu/Note: To use the AMS, you must use a web browser capable of making a secure connection (one that supports SSL), such as Netscape Navigator 2.x or later, or Internet Explorer 3.x or later, and you must be able to accept cookies.
The AMS provides a secure and user-friendly interface that uses a university-wide directory associated with the Enterprise Directory Service (EDS). The EDS integrates information from campus computer account databases into a unified directory service, in which everyone at IU has a single assigned identity.
Note: For information about managing departmental, student organization, or other nonprimary accounts (i.e., group accounts for which you are the owner) using the Account Management Service (AMS), see Managing your IU group or departmental accounts.
