In Outlook 2002, how do I enable SSL on an existing mail account?
To enable Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) on an existing account in Outlook 2002, follow these instructions:
- From the
Toolsmenu, selectEmail Accounts....
- Select
View or change existing email accounts, and clickNext.
- Highlight the account you wish to edit and click
Change....
- In the
Email Accountswindow, clickMore Settings....
- Click the
Advancedtab, and under "Incoming server (IMAP):" checkThis server requires a secure connection (SSL).
- Click
OK, thenNext, and thenFinish.
The next time you check mail with this account, you will be using SSL.
