How do I download and install software from IUware Online?

You can access IUware Online at:

http://iuware.iu.edu/

IUware Online should automatically detect your platform (Windows or Macintosh) and display the relevant available software both in the main frame and in the category listing on the left. If you don't see the software for your operating system in the main frame, look for the Software for Macintosh or Software for Windows link to switch your display.

Once you've found the software you want, you will need to log in with your IU Network ID to begin downloading it. Beside "Available For Download", you will find the Login button. Once you've logged in, click the Download button to continue downloading. Follow any on-screen prompts.

Windows-specific information

The IUware software installer should run automatically. If it does not, navigate to the directory on your computer where the downloaded program is stored and double-click its icon. Follow the prompts to install.

Macintosh-specific information

Your web browser will download the software as a BinHex or MacBinary file. If you have your browser correctly configured, StuffIt Expander will automatically decode it. If this doesn't happen, use StuffIt Expander to manually decode the file.

Find and double-click the disk image or installer file for the software you downloaded. In the case of a disk image, it will mount on your desktop. If it doesn't automatically launch an installer, double-click the mounted image, and then double-click the installer inside. Once the installer starts, follow the prompts to install the software on your computer.
