In Mac OS and Mac OS X, what is the Command key?
Note: In the Knowledge Base, the Command key is
usually abbreviated Cmd.
The Command key (the Apple key) is the most common modifier key in
Mac OS and Mac OS X. The Mac keyboard usually has one
Command key on each side of the Spacebar. Many menu items, such as
Quit, Close, and Save, have a keystroke
shortcut using the Command key. To use such a shortcut, hold down one
of the Command keys and press the letter key for that item. For
example, to save a document in most applications, hold down
Cmd and press s .
