In Windows, how can I find the version number and product ID number of an application?
To find the version number for most Windows applications, launch the
application, go to the menu bar at the top of the window, and click
Help. In the resulting menu, click About X, where
X is the name of the application. For example, if you wanted
to look up the version number of Netscape 7, then you would click
Help on the menu and then About Netscape 7. A dialog
box will appear with the version number, and possibly other information
such as a product ID code, licensing information, and service pack
release.
