Can I get an IU email address for my family members?
In order to have an Indiana University email address and Network ID, you must be a student, faculty member, or staff member at IU. Therefore, as a rule, being a family member of a student, faculty member, or staff member does not entitle a person to the use of IU computing resources.
One exception would be if that person is involved in some university-sanctioned activity that supports the university mission, the person may be eligible for a sponsored IU Affiliate account. This account grants temporary access to IU computing resources. For more information, see Information about sponsored computing accounts for IU affiliates. For any other exceptions, see the policy of the University Information Policy Office (UIPO) on Eligibility to Use Information Technology Resources.
For information on finding an Internet service provider, see How can I access the Internet without an IU network account?
