What is IUCAT and how do I access it?
IUCAT, Indiana University's online library catalog, contains records for more than five million items held by the IU Libraries statewide, including books, recordings, US government publications, periodicals, and other types of materials.
You can search IUCAT for materials held by the IU Libraries and look up class reserves. To request delivery, see a list of items you have checked out, or renew items, log into IUCAT with your IU Network ID.
Note: Materials on electronic reserve may not appear
in IUCAT; for more information on electronic reserve, check your
library's web site. To visit your library's site, from within IUCAT,
click IU Libraries' Home Pages.
IUCAT does not include specific journal articles. Search IUCAT for the title of the journal you need. To find journal articles related to a specific topic, use one of the subject-specific library databases listed on your library's web site.
Note: To view IUCAT, your browser must have cookies enabled. Additionally, IUCAT is a web-based interface; it is not available via telnet. If you are using a non-PPP connection, you can use Lynx to access the catalog.
