In Windows, how do I find out how much memory (RAM) I have?
To check the amount of RAM you have in Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000, or XP, follow the steps below:
- In Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, or XP, from the desktop or the
Start menu, right-click the
My Computericon and selectProperties.Alternatively, double-click
My Computer. Double-click theControl Panelfolder, and then double-click theSystemicon. - Click the
Generaltab. At the bottom of the list, you will see how much RAM your computer has. In Windows 95, 98, or Me, if you do not see the RAM under theGeneraltab, you should be able to find it under thePerformancetab, in the "Status" area.
