ARCHIVED: In Windows 2000 or XP, how do I disable or enable the Active Desktop?
Windows XP
- Click the
Startbutton and choose eitherControl Panel, orSettingsand thenControl Panel.
- Double-click
Display.
- Choose the
Desktoptab, and then clickCustomize Desktop....
- Click the
Webtab. Under "Web pages:", add the page that you want on your desktop and check the box next to it. This will enable the Active Desktop. If you wish to disable the Active Desktop, uncheck the box next to the web page.
Windows 2000
- Click the
Startbutton and chooseSettings, thenControl Panel.
- Double-click
Display.
- In the
Display Propertieswindow, click theWebtab.
- Check or uncheck
View my Active Desktop as a web page. ClickOK.
