In LISTSERV, what can happen if my mailer automatically adds a signature?

In most cases, a mail program that automatically adds a signature will not cause problems when dealing with LISTSERV lists. However, if you are the list owner and you use the PUT command to update your list header information, do not add a signature file when returning the list header to the server. LISTSERV will parse your signature file looking for subscribers, which likely will result in an error.
