ARCHIVED: On a Macintosh, why can't I share my Syquest drive, CD-ROM, or other removable media drive?

As long as you are using System 7.5.1 or higher, your Mac OS computer should automatically share any removable media when inserted and unshare it when ejected.

With System 7.0 through 7.5, this process is less reliable. Often an inserted removable media disk will not be shared automatically. Turning file sharing off and then back on again will usually fix this. Occasionally, it may require that you restart your computer.
